SNOW UPDATE 2004/2006

03/22: Snow in Hatchers Pass.  Not much anymore.  Petersville was pretty decent last weekend.  the recent hot weather has most likely ruined that.  Eureka has had the coldest weather around this area so..........

SNOW UPDATE 2002 / 2003:

10/22: Snow in Hatchers Pass.  Saw people riding there.  Not open and way too early.  Road is paved all the way to the Motherload Lodge on the Palmer side.

12/26:  Reports of 4ft in Eureka.  Paxxon has snow also.  Parks still closed to riding.  So far worst year I have ever seen for riding.

Waiting

12/11: Ok so we have some snow.  3 inches last night in Palmer.  Some say you can trail ride on the Willow side of Hatchers Pass, Petersville and Eureka.  One report of good snow around Lazy mountain.  Bottom line is There is little to no snow.  Looks like a repeat of last year.

12/12: ITS SNOWING!!!  4- 6 inches in Palmer @ 5:30pm.  Still coming down. :)

SNOW UPDATE 2000 / 2001
Well we have snow. Not much. Reports of snow at Eureka and Paxon are coming in. However it is still early. Lots of rocks. Spoke to one guy who broke his wrist last week. Hit a rock. Be patient it will get here.

11/09: Raining in Anch. However, snow is falling at elevation! Hatchers Pass is gettting snow.

11/17: Snowed in Palmer today, about 1 inch or so.. I heard a rumor that Hatcher Pass will open 11/25. Lets hope. Man what a dry year! Eureka reports decent snow north of Monument and Petersville has 2 -3 feet back by the Dutch Hills.

12/01: 5 ft in Petersville. Alders still poking up. 27 inch base at Eureka with 4-6 inches last night. Petersvile better riding but packed with limited parking.

12/17: Confirm 2ft in Eureka. You can ride but it's not great. Was there today.

WINTER STORM WARNING FOR ANCHORAGE MAT-SU. 9 INCHES POSSIBLE!!

12/30 Petersville: Trails off main road in good shape. If you look there is some deep snow. We found waist deep powder in a valley we should have stayed out of. 1.5 hours of stuck! :) LOVED IT!!!!!

1/21/01 SNOW IN EUREKA!!! about a total of 4 ft. The base is a little soft in spots but good riding is here. This is confirmed by the most recent signer of the guest book. So at least 2 of us are in agreement.

1/27/01 8 inches in Palmer.

1/29/01 23 inches at Independance Mine (Hatchers Pass) Need 7 more inches before opening..

Today is 2/2. In the last week I have had the oppurtunity to ride both petersville( excellent base )and eureka ( a bit wind blown but a great base) these areas are both excellent our winter is finally here. Fresh powder is always greatly appreciated . Keep up the snow dancing. Sincerely, One HAPPY RIDER
